Obama's Biggest Debate Two Whopper

|
October 18, 2012

In Debate Two with GOP opponent Mitt Romney, President Obama lied about the attack on the consulate in Benghazi and the murders of the ambassador and three other Americans. For nearly two weeks, the president and administration spokespersons had blamed the attack on a mob angered by an anti-Mohammad clip on Youtube before they finally admitted that it was a planned terrorist attack. Then in the debate Obama claimed that he had called it a terrorist attack all along.

Many critics jumped on the President for this apparent lie. But most critics missed Obama’s real whopper.

Breathtakingly disingenuous

Obama's most dishonest utterance of the evening came in answer to the question, “What do you believe is the biggest misperception that the American people have about you…?”

Obama’s response: “That I think government creates jobs, that that somehow is the answer. That’s not what I believe. I believe that the free enterprise system is the greatest engine of prosperity the world’s ever known. I believe in self-reliance and individual initiative and risk takers being rewarded.”

You can’t get anymore breathtakingly disingenuous than this!

Expanding dependence

Obama made it Job One of his administration to place one-sixth of the economy under government control with Obamacare, making everyone in the country, directly or indirectly, reliant on the federal government for their health care. This is dependence by definition!

Government welfare programs at the federal and state levels combined reached over $1 trillion in 2011. That’s dependence!

Today 46 million Americans are on food stamps. That’s dependence!

Want to argue that these are just temporary conditions because of the weak economy? Sorry but the entire ideology of Obama and company is to expand entitlements and government control whenever possible.

Denying self-reliance

Indeed, Obama criticized Romney’s off-the-record remarks about 47 percent of Americans being dependent on government. The president said, “Think about who he was talking about: folks on Social Security who've worked all their lives…” Obama approves of this dependence. He strongly opposes giving individuals the liberty to put their own money, which government currently takes from them for Social Security, into private retirement portfolios so they would be reliant on themselves rather than the state.

Of the 47 percent Obama included “Students who are out there trying to, hopefully, advance their own dreams…” Obama approves of this dependence; indeed, he bragged in the debate that “We've expanded Pell Grants for millions of people.” (Sadly, Romney muddled the difference between himself and the president by endorsing these grants as well.)

Obama did not ask why would-be students and their parents find it tough to secure funds for college. The answer is that government tax and regulatory policies make it tough for people to secure funds for new houses, for vacations, you name it.

You want the heart of the Obama ideology? At the Democratic convention, The One gave a speaking slot to 30-year-old perpetual Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke. This narcissist argued that it is the duty of each and every one of us to pay for her birth control. Self-reliant?

Indeed, in the debate Obama criticized Romney for suggesting that “employers should be able to make the decision as to whether or not a woman gets contraception through her insurance coverage.” Obama gives that role to government.

Enemy of entrepreneurs

With his alleged belief in “individual initiative and risk takers being rewarded,” Obama offers the ultimate insult to our intelligence. The immoral center of his administration and campaign has been to demonize those who prosper most through their own productive efforts. He demands that they pay their “fair share,” meaning whatever Obama and his rapacious agents can get away with stealing form them. He even says concerning their creative achievements, “You didn’t build that. Someone else made that happen.”

Have you heard Obama praising Romney for his individual initiative and risk taking? Of course not! Obama and his ilk damn the wealthy for being wealthy, not for creating wealth.

There’s a glimmer of hope in the fact that Obama feels compelled to lie about his beliefs on free enterprise, self-reliance, individual initiative, and rewarding risk takers rather than stating his socialist beliefs outright.

But even if he won’t speak the truth, his actions do.
