Atlas Summit galt's gulch

After eleven years of farming near Hutchinson, Minnesota, Kathy Prellwitz and her husband decided to invest in the community in which they live.

The main street had many empty buildings. When Kathy first arrived, she had thought: “This could be such a cute town! Why aren’t there more shops on this potentially very cute Main Street?” So they bought a building and, as a joint venture with a friend, undertook the enormous project of turning it into a bakery. Throughout the process of renovating the building and preparing it to become a bakery, Kathy quickly realized why main streets across America are dying. True capitalistic ventures are being punished. Let her tell you about the complex web of government regulations and fees associated with becoming a business owner today. The experience left her in the end with only one thought: Get me to Galt’s Gulch!
